文法重點(六) ：動詞後接
1. 只能接原型動詞的動詞
(1) let 讓 (允許)
例句：Please let me get into the gym. (請允許我進入體育館)
解析：請求對方同意的用法。
(2) make 讓 (強迫)
例句：Mom makes me do exercises every day. (媽媽叫我每天做習題)
解析：其實我沒有意願做習題。
(3) have 讓
例句：I will have John give you a call. (我會讓John打電話給你)
解析：僅傳達訊息，沒有強迫的意味。
(4) help 幫助；協助
例句：Thank you for helping me tidy up the house. (謝謝你幫忙整理房子)
2. 只能接不定詞的動詞
(1) tell 告訴
例句：I told myself to pick up some milk on the way home, but I forgot to do it. (我告訴自己回家的時候買瓶鮮奶回家，但我還是忘記了)
(2) ask 詢問、請求
例句：She asked me not to say anything about it to anyone. (她要我別再對這件事情做出任何回應)
(3) want 想要
例句：I just want him to be honest with me. (我只想要他對我誠實)
(4) need 需要
例句：We need to hurry up or we’ll miss the bus. (我們需要加快速度，不然我們會趕不上公車)
(5) teach 教導
例句：Peter taught us to use sign language. (Peter教我們使用手語)
3. 只能接動名詞的動詞
(1) quit 戒除
例句：Geo made up his mind to quit smoking. (Geo下定決心要戒菸。)
(2) waste 浪費
例句：Don’t waste your time hanging around. (不要浪費時間瞎混)
(3) avoid 避免
例句：We should avoid making the same mistake. (我們應該避免犯同樣的錯誤)
(4) finish 完成
例句：I haven’t finished reading the latest novel yet. (我還沒讀完最新的小說)
(5) spend 花費
例句：Mother Teresa spent her life taking a stand for the poor and needy. (德蕾莎修女一生為窮人和有需要的人服務)
(6) practice 練習
例句：We practiced playing the guitar every day before the talent show. (在才藝表演之前，我們天天練習彈吉他)
(7) keep 保持、持續
例句：The curios child kept asking questions. (好奇的孩子不停地發問)
(8) mind 介意 (或做客氣的請求)
例句：I don’t mind making everyone a cup of coffee. (我不介意幫大家煮杯咖啡)
例句：Would you mind doing me a small favor? (你可以幫我一個小忙嗎？)
(9) enjoy 喜愛
例句：Lorain enjoys watching movies at home. (Lorain喜歡在家看電影)
4. 可以接不定詞也可以接動名詞的動詞
(1) like 喜歡
例句：Linda likes singing. She sings all the time. (Linda喜歡唱歌，她總是哼哼唱唱)
例句：I like to have a cup of hot chocolate on cold winter days. (在冷冷的天裡，我喜歡來一杯熱巧克力)
(2) love 愛
例句：Leo love baking cakes and cookies. (Leo喜歡烘焙蛋糕和餅乾)
例句：Grandpa loves to walk his dog after meals. (阿公喜歡在飯後遛狗)
(3) hate 討厭
例句：I hate getting up in the freezing morning. (我討厭在冰冷的早晨起床)
例句：She hates to cook. (她討厭烹飪)
(4) begin 開始
例句：She began feeling dizzy soon after the car accident. (在車禍發生後，她隨即開始暈眩)
例句：The flowers on the trees are beginning to bloom. (樹上的花朵正開始綻放)
(5) start 開始
例句：He started studying music at the age of five. (他五歲開始學音樂)
例句：Leaves start to change colors when autumn is coming. (秋天來臨的時候，樹葉開始變色)
5. 接不定詞和動名詞的意思不相同的動詞
(1) remember 記得
動作未完成 (to V)
例句：Remember to take the medicine before bed. (記得睡前要吃藥)
解析：藥還沒吃。
動作已完成 (Ving)
例句：I remember discussing this. question with you. (我記得我跟你討論過這個問題)
解析：已經討論過了。
(2) forget 忘記
動作未完成 (to V)
例句：Joe realized that he forgot to. bring his wallet when he was about to pay for the coffee. (當Joe要付錢買咖啡的時候，他發現自己忘記帶錢包)
動作已完成 (Ving)
例句：I forgot posting the same photo. (我忘了我已經上傳過同樣的照片了)
(3) stop 停止
動作未完成 (to V)
例句：He stopped to listen to her talking. (他停下來聽她說話)
解析：停下原來的動作去做別的事。

例句：Stop shouting. (停止大叫)
解析：中止當下的動作。
